Student Activities

Music

Here at Risen Christ School we provide vocal and general music education to all our students kindergarten through eighth grade. All elementary age students receive two music classes per week throughout the entire school year, and the middle school students receive two music classes per week for one semester of the year.
All music classes are taught using the Orff-Schulwerk methodology which entails providing students with a variety of ways to make music and express themselves musically. Examples of this include song and speech, movement and dance, as well as instrumental play using percussion and recorders.
Risen Christ also currently offers additional choral opportunities for students in grades four, five and six. The Risen Christ Choraliers rehearse once a week and perform both at school and in the community. This school year, the group was asked to perform at a metropolitan arts function in downtown Minneapolis and has also performed at the Mall of America.
Athletics

To encourage physical fitness and teamwork, students in grades 4-8 are offered an opportunity to participate in the following sports:
- Girls'Volleyball
- Co-ed Soccer
- Boys'Basketball
- Girls'Basketball
- Boys'Baseball
- Girls'Softball
Learning and improvement of fundamental skills and good sportsmanship are stressed at all levels.
Middle school students are also provided the opportunity to work for checkbook pay (see Special Programs) by selling concessions and operating the scoreboard during home games.
