How to enroll

To enroll during the school year:

- Contact the school office at 612-822-5329 to set up meeting with the principal, Liz Ramsey. This meeting will include a tour of the school, and allow you a chance to ask questions about the programs offered, to help determine if the school can offer your child a program suited to his/her needs. Transportation questions can be answered. Registration forms will be given at this time.
Arrange a time for placement tests. We give a computerized test to determine a child's approximate reading level and math level so teachers can place your child in the program that best matches his/her skills. If a child speaks a language besides English, we give the Language Assessment Scales or LAS test. This lets teachers know what supports the child may need.
- Orientation to school is usually done with the placement tests. We cover the material most students received the first week of school. We look at the family handbook, the bus rules and an overview of Discipline with Purpose.
- Arrange time for a student to shadow a member of the class. This allows the student a chance to see what a typical day is like without the responsibility of homework or active participation.
- Arrange for a time to meet the homeroom teachers or, in the case of middle school, the team of teachers. They can go over classroom procedures and homework expectations with you, and answer your specific questions.
- Return registration forms and registration fee.
To enroll during the summer:

- Visit or call the school office at 612-822-5329. The school office is open throughout the summer; in June and July the office closes early so it is best to call first.
- Request forms. A tour of the school can be requested at this time as well.
- Fill out and return forms and the registration fee.
- A new student orientation will be held shortly before school starts. It includes the following:
- tour of school and new classroom;
- placement test in reading and math;
- orientation to Discipline with Purpose program; and
- if needed, the Language Assessment Scales or LAS test of English proficiency.
