Annual Gala

The 2008 Celebration Gala for Risen Christ School marks fifteen years of successful education for youth in south Minneapolis. A consolidation of five parish schools--Incarnation, St. Stephens, Holy Name, Holy Rosary and St. Albert the Great--Risen Christ School opened its doors in fall 1993. Rich in the educational and social justice traditions of the Catholic Church, the School welcomes all who come to our doors.

This year, the Celebration Gala will be held in downtown Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Depot--site of the old Milwaukee Depot train station. Jearlyn Steele and her siblings, The Steeles, began a successful run of the pop/gospel musical "Gospel at Colonus" at The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, on Broadway and finally at Carnegie Hall. Jearlyn has toured with Prince, is a featured motivational singer at national conferences and is a frequent special guest on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion. Currently, Jearlyn hosts a radio show on 830 WCCO Radio, Steele Talkin, every Sunday night from 7 PM to 11 PM, which is heard in thirty states nationwide and streamed via WCCORadio.com.
